it's generally an occular muscle spasm caused by over working the eye....best thing to do is probably catch some Zzzs

From what I've heard (er, and read), putting a small, wet, rectangular piece of paper over the eye works.

If your eyelid is twitching it is a common sign that you are not getting enough sleep and that you are also drinking too much caffeine. Lubricating your eye with eyedrops may also help with your problem.
