This is a thread where we can all pay tribute to the greatest player to ever grace the game of football, Paulo César Wanchope.
One of the greatest sportsmen of all time for mine.

You made me think he was dead!![]()
I did think that might happen after I made the thread, but it is a price I'm willing to pay in order to get Paulo the credit he deserves. :freak:
A LEGEND IN HIS OWN RIGHT imho, even my little town in New York knows of his sheer epic persona. What a handsome mothersmurfing devil.
I am working on getting his face carved on Mount Rushmore to replace Abe Lincoln who did nothing useful except preserve the Union and free the slaves.
I was so scared of this guy back in his Derby days.![]()
Str8 Pimpin'
Excellent work, Keith. The PWAS (Paulo Wanchope Appreciation Society) will reward you greatly for your hard work for our cause!
I liked the partnership he formed with that Italian guy at Derby. What was his name again? Baiano? Eranio? ...or did they have two Italians, the sneaky east midlandss?
Fabrizio Ravanelli?
I called him Fabrizio Raviolli the other day 'cause I forgot his name as well. But he was a badass as well. Middlesborough used to have a gun team. EMERSON AND HIS GREASY HAIR and little Juninho as well.
Nah not the silver-haired relegation magnet. Turns out there WERE two of 'em!

Boro also had a Brazilian World Cup winning defender (Branco? Branca? I don't remember) in that team. It's insane that they went down.
Paulo Wachope is a beautiful man, and his goal against the Germans was one of the best moments of the World Cup. Might he do a George Weah and run for President of Costa Rica? Please, make it so!
"The most important and recognize player in the history of the country."
Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I were as great as Paulo Wanchope.
He was ok. Not great, not consistant enough to ever be considered 'great'. As I follow Argentine football, I seen him recently at Rosario Central, he never really hit it off there either & buggered off to Japan.
Cristiano Ronaldo cries himself to sleep every night knowing he'll never have the footballing talent Paulo Wanchope has in his little toe on his left foot in his entire life.![]()
Argentine football is great. Sometimes I catch it in the early hours on channel 5. Almost everybody has long hair, the kits are dodgy, and plenty of guys dribbling round 3-4 players, then putting the ball hilariously wide. This is football at its purest, if you ask me. Cracking stuff. Go Banfield!
