Actually, can we never mention today again?
Why the hell we even have Gravesen back I don't know. I know a lot of Evertonians saw Gravesen as a panic-loan after the Fernandes deal didn't come off and it certainly seems that way. I never really rated Gravesen and it was only during his last season with us that he started to play well really. Each time I've seen him this season (against AZ Alkmaar and listening to the commentary today) all he seems to do is either argue with Lee Carsley or bugger things up; neither of which I think are that constructive.
I can understand why Moyes played the team he did today and I think I probably wouldn't done the same thing with us playing Chelsea on Tuesday. I don't see why on earth that squad couldn't have easily beaten an Oldham side with a fair few injuries that are mid-table in League One. However, I don't see why Moyes rested Howard when there wasn't much need to, really. I think Moyes underestimated Oldham but really, it was a disappointing performance by the team. Well done to Oldham and good luck to them, but Everton better get a decent result at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday or else today'll hurt even more. Oh, and against Man City next Saturday but I'm sure that my presence at that game will make all the difference.
I wasn't too bothered with our previous two defeats because it was Arsenal and Manchester United, but Oldham isn't really a team you associate as being of a similar quality.
