Reports say there was nothing malicious in it, it was just bad timing in the tackle. From what I understand, there was more malice in most of the tackles made by Arsenal against Nani recently.

It's terrible when players get such injuries. It's even worse when players, managers or fans abuse the situation by trying to get players "banned from football", accusing people of being malicious for a tackle to get the ball just one week after their own players were kicking players who were getting up off the ground - without the ball.
