Wow, what a game! The rest of Europe will bow to the Premier League after seeing that display on the grand stage.
A victory for Liverpool & the premiership tonight.
Str8 Pimpin'
The problem with playing against a team of illiterates is that they don't know how to read a script. Theo's assist should have been it. But no, another failed season for us, and a hundred and eighty minutes of Chelsea - Liverpool as compensation. Woo.![]()
"The most important and recognize player in the history of the country."
Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I were as great as Paulo Wanchope.
Plus extra time and penalties. Of course.
Bow before the mighty Javoo!
With Torres in the fold, I think this one will be decided before extra time, one way or the other.
Take care all.
Well there goes the title! Chelsea were apparently pretty sluggish, too. 30-goal Torres (And 21-goal Stevie G!) might just increase their tallies.
...or they'll screw us with a false penalty again.![]()
Man they've got to move than Chelsea/Man Utd game forward

Nah, it's perfectly timed. We lost the title to Chelsea and our players had to give them the guard of honour (or whatever it is) because they won it on the day we played them. I think it's high time Chelsea lost at home in the league, and if we manage it, it will be their turn. A shame it's not at Old Trafford and with that in mind it wouldn't be too bad if we won it later on against West Ham (I think that's our only home game left)... but I'd still rather beat Chelsea.
Perfectly timed, really. The only downside I can think of aside from the whole not-at-home thing is that the players might get trashed and feel like the season is sorted just a couple of days before a semifinal second leg in the CL.
Still, it will probably end up being a draw at Stamford. Sadly, I can just see that happening...

You want to see your team conserve their strength for European issues, fair play.
But the rest of us would rather see the crucial make-or-break happen at that very game. I just think it's a letdown if such a mouth-watering tie should be a dead-rubber or something not far from it. In hindsight scheduling that fixture a month earlier would have done it more justice

Everton would've beaten Chelsea at home last season had it not been a dodgy offside decision. I forget whether Everton lost a goal or Chelsea gained a goal from it, but either way we should've won!

It's not a dead rubber, in fact it could well be a title-decider. If it wasn't for Chelsea choking against Wigan, it would be even more so a title decider. These things should happen at the deciding time of the season. It would be a terrible shame if all the big four games were played with over a month to spare, leaving the title to be decided by how well each team does against Derby and Wiga-- er, well, you know what I mean.
As a fan of one of the teams involved, I love it. I hated it when it was a dead rubber last time around, but this time I'm really looking forward to it. I don't think either manager will be conserving all their players for Europe. They have so many players to pick from that they can rotate and still have class players in all three games. I'm sure there may be one or two players that might be viewed as not the bees knees, but it won't be to the extent of Liverpool/Arsenal where they have to throw players in on debut. The squads that Chelsea and United have are able to manage in these kind of situations.

How depressing. We seem to have gone into self-destruct mode since the Fiorentina game which was - arguably - our performance of the season.
Fulham - Loss
West Ham - Draw (should've been a win but for a bad offside decision)
Liverpool - Loss
Derby - Win
Chelsea - Loss
I just hope we can hold on to fifth because we've had a great season by and large and I would absolutely hate us to miss out on Europe when we've played so well on the whole. We just need a bigger squad. Still, Arsenal are in free-fall too, so with a bit of luck we might beat them? But I'm really not holding me breath. It's imperative that we beat Villa and Newcastle.

I see Grant is joining Rafa in the sulky manager interview game.

As you can imagine, I'm the happiest girl in the world right now.!
Ugh! Yet again they snatch an undeserved draw. And people call scousers thieves! We should've put the game and tie to bed long before it happened though, so I guess we have only ourselves to blame for that. Hopefully United give them a physically intense game while we rest our main players, then in the second leg we just give them an "Up and at 'em!" approach and make it a fast-paced gruelling battle of attrition.
