Equal rights haven't come into being. An chivalry can't exist without equal rights, since to be chivalrous is to be courteous, an being disrespectful to somebody, is not being courteous. I wouldn't give up my seat for anybody, since it's highly unlikely they'd be more worthy of it than me.
