100 in roman numerals is C, which is the first letter of the answer. It was a half joke hint in response to "I'd like to buy a wovel", but a valid one nonetheless.
I was thinking of Creeps a lot earlier but Creep was already guessed and wrong.
Pervasive but immaterial
Heard only but one time
A question of identity
Does he want an answer?
If creep was guessed as a lone guess I would probably have given it right, but it was one out of three guesses in the same post without any reasoning. I did say about that post, however, that "one of your guesses is so close I'm surprised you didn't see it". Sorry if I upset anyone.
Enough about that though. The immediate thought that strikes me is Bahamut and his questions before the fight. He doesn't show up physically before the fight, but his voice can be "heard". He questions your motives, and so your identity. The last line could be referring to that you have to choose the invisible option at the last question.
But Bahamut is too obvious, isn't he?![]()
Let's try something a bit less obvious then. The astronaut Rinoa passes when heading out to Adel's tomb? He says something like "Huh? Who is that?", which is a question of identity. The voice is "heard" (pervasive), although voices can't really be heard in a vacuum (immaterial) environment.
You only hear him speak once, I think, unless that's Laguna. I don't rightly remember. I guess it could be questioned if he really wants an answer, since he just keeps on going instead of trying to find out.
I would guess Ultimecia, but the riddle says "he," so I'm guessing young Squall at the orphanage whenever he asks Edea who grown-up Squall is. It takes up when time is all screwy, so it makes sense.
It's not Tiamat or Squall.
Hint'He' is referring to Griever.
Shockwave Pulsar, then?
Nope.
