I dont know why Squall and the gang would be dressed in Crimson Flame(perhaps because they crashed, i.e fire)

But is it when they go to say sorry to Mayor Dobe?? ..He does wear a yellow shirt

Clad in crimson/ Red Clothes (Xerampelinae)
    flames/ Fire (Ignus)
    The Magistrate journeys/ Judgement (Iudicium)
Along the country lane/ Tree-lined Road (Xystus)
Keeping an eye out for/ Watchman (Vigil)
One clad in yellow hues/ Cowardice (Inaudax)
    Who foolishly adores/ Love (Venus)
The still deep waters/ Flood (Inandantia)
And all that live in it/ Swordfish (Xiphias)

For line 6, it could also be referring to Trauma, who is fought after the puzzle is solved. But I'm inclined to think that it refers to Cowardice (Inaudax), either because someone depicted in the pain is clad in yellow, or the whole painting might have a yellow tone. The reason I'm guessing this is because it leaves only the paintings Sleep (Intervigilium), Garden (Vividarium) and Messenger (Viator), the only paintings actually used in the real puzzle.

Either way, I'm not sure if the answers for each line suffices as an answer for the riddle, but I'll just mention, for good measure, that the theme would be the Clock/Painting puzzle in Ultimecia's castle.

This makes quite a lot of sense, I would be suprised if it was incorrect.

    You are correct, Sir.

The only quibble is that cowards are sometimes referred to as being yellow (or yellow-bellied), which all I meant by that line.

I thought it was high time the leftover paintings were featured in their own puzzle, so this was it.

    As would I.

Since I already have a riddle going in the FFVII thread, here's an easy one so someone else can get a turn:

    I, an achromatic cuboid,
    deliver you from timberland.

The first line sounds like black box.

  13. #583
Is that anything from the game? Anyway, that's not it.

I don't think so, but it's a fair translation of that line.
