Very nice reasoning, but the answer is incorrect.
The second stanza is more down to earth, it describes three things the answer is host of. The first stanza describes a series of events from the history of the answer, but "left ground" does not refer to going airborne.
Left my robe and egressed, westbound
Gathered courage, then, and left ground
Now host of tricks of greatest power
Host of the outcast and half a flower
Wrong guesses:
Queen of cards
Edea
Garden
Ragnarok
Island Closest to Heaven/Hell
Ellone
Rinoa
Squall acquiring Brothers
Hints:
The answer is a person
