Thread: So bored, and WHY?!

    Unhappy So bored, and WHY?!

I tell you all, I used to love this game. I thought it was one of the best FF's when I started out. It was fun and had a great story. Then the WoR happened. And I am just finding myself so incredibly BORED! All I've been doing is just rounding up all of my party members for the last five hours! I haven't been this bored playing a Final Fantasy since the first half of FFVIII's 2nd disc (jailbreak to NORG, essentially). Please, please tell me it gets better!

    I'm a lazy sod.

There are lots of optional dungeons in WoR, and they're pretty cool.
    I like Cyan's Dream s lot, it's totally LSD-influenced.

The WoR is pretty much Sidequestland. If you're tired of sidequests and are looking for challenge, you can always try going directly to Kefka's tower.

Oh okay. What level should I be? I am at really low levels right now.

lv 50 is the recommended level but it's easier with more people because you have to split you're party up

You should be able to do it around 40. Finding all of the characters was a major pain for me too. The Fanatics Tower is fun.

Dont worry, if you get all the characters it makes the ending so worth it
    Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
    Have a nice day!!

WoR is what makes 6 so great....it's non-linear and i guess a lot of people aren't ready for it but it makes it so much better to decide what you want to do instead of being led by the nose.

I'm in like the 1% of people who find the WoR boring as hell. The main story itself is pretty much over except for defeating Kefka. WoR is just one big fest of accumulating weapons, abilities, and Espers if you want to *collect everything* or round out your characters' abilities. Not to say that those individual sidequests are not, or cannot be fun...they are, but without the sense of suspense or urgency to take care of my business and finish Kefka, it became quite tedious.

I've found nobody who agrees with me, but if at least Kefka was sending uber-henchmen after you while he played god, you would remember what the point of all your work was. FFX does the same thing with airship--there's lots of cool stuff, but you can't do much of it until the story just halts right before the "final level."

BTW, I'm not BASHING the game, VI is right up there with VII as my favorite in the series, I just think it lost a little something when you get to the World of Ruin.

WoR, combined with the entire esper system, is why I've never been a huge fan of FF6. Honestly, the Tower of Fanatics is insanely dfficult. I used the Moogle Charm to get through it.

Of course, since I'm a perfectionist, I actually taught most of the spells to everyone by fighting Catuars, so admittedly I did more work than I needed to. Even still, I really didn't like the World of Ruin.

Special thanks to dark_lord for the sig!

It took you five hours of gathering together characters to figure out you were bored? Or after being bored for an hour you thought "what the heck" and continued for another four hours despite being incredibly bored?

Not really. All you need is Ultima and Cure3 and it's pretty easy. Terra, Relm, Celes, and Strago are the best to bring.

    I agree with you.
I feel much less immersed in the story once I get the second airship.

The latter, my friend, unfortunately....Basically, what I was saying is that I've been pretty much bored for the past 5 hours of the game.
