The shadows are long and deep, and the colour rich and intoxicating: it is like that of a great rose, magnificent in its final, lingering moments of bloom.

Or to gather in the night and share a drink as we talk. And then we feel the alcohol warm our throats and hearts, weaving a gentle, placid feeling as we speak of the sun, the moon, the gods and deaths of this world. A topic without boundaries and pace - light and free, mysterious and dark. A laugh or cry, but always a time to speak with friends. To sit and watch the lights of boats on distant waters, or to quietly muse while watching the stars and moon - there is no better.

Or to lose myself in the narcotic bliss of artistic endeavors. Silently crying with rapture as I see that I am to pass into a realm that transcends this world of conscious thought. Swimming in the subconscious and ethereal, there I find gods and demons, joys and hatreds - everything. In but one droplet of time's pool, I swim. Oh, the sweet scent of it!

Or perhaps it is the swaying, pulling echoes of music that I enjoy most? It moves my soul to sing, or sets upon me a most sorrowful, sombre tone. But oh! to know that something invisible can conjure images equal to the mastery of the world's most respected artists. Or to have its audience moved in such fashion that words utterly fail to encompass. A glow it may create, and a brooding smoldering flame it may leave, only to return with a greater blaze than ever before.

However, there is a select source of happiness I find supreme:
    Her smile.

When I see that not only does her complexion shift to reflect her happiness, but that her eyes glow with a warmth that kindles my soul... That is when the world slows, slows, and slows until it is made to become one moment in time - both eternity and its end. Her eyes simply shine a light, shimmering as they warmly peer into my own happy, dancing eyes. And how my soul sings! A silence hangs over these moments, but it seems that in these glimpses of eternity, more things are said than what words there may have been, and what may yet come. A perfect silence, broken only by the soft breath of our flying bodies.

It is then that I know love. It is then that I know happiness.
You're just trying to save yourself from the grasp of the devil.

Your arms are too short to box with me, son.

Being anywhere other than work makes me happy. Leaving work on Friday fills me with joy, knowing I will be away from that hateful job for two days, and then going to the video(DVD?) store to get some films out, and some munchies (making the most of the 2 litre bottle of soda, bag of popcorn, and bag of sweets for £2 with 2 or more films at the moment). Woot!

"I work in one of those humble call centres... Apparently, what we're doing at the moment is 'sprinkling our magic along the way'. It's a call centre, not Hogwarts." ~ Caroline Garlick, Ayrshire, BBC News Magazine

I think things that make me go JOYYYYYYYYYYY *explode* might be plushies particularly pandas and sanrio fings :3 I got a keroppi toy at the weekend that made me happy, oh and what made me most JOY was the namco arcade I went to, fun good old fashioned amusements like frog bashing and making the lizards catch the bugs with their tongue by hitting the button and it was low down for kids so I had to bend hehe

Those things give me SQUEEEE joy. ^_^
