If it is off, you don't have to worry about turning it off. And the HDD is your hard drive disk, or hard drive. It is inside your computer. Unless you have an external, then it is outside. But you probably don't have one of those.

A hard disk is a storage device which is usually found inside your computer. The hard disk light is usually right next to the power indicator light. The power indicator should be flashing on as long as the PC has power, just to tell you that the computer is indeed turned on.
