I have a specific question about the rare game Larva Eater, and if I have questions about the Bestiary, I'm sure other people do.

I'm trying to get the Larva Eater to show up in the Great Crystal. The Game Mechanics Guide on gamefaqs.com says to kill 256 enemies and then go to one of several teleporters. The strategy guide only lists two teleporters (XIII, XIV).

To make sure I didn't miss count I chained 256 Ose and then went from teleporter to teleporter. But at teleporter VIII I accidently teleported out of the Great Crystal. I went back in at once. No Larva Eater.

Do I have to start over?

Yes, you have to kill all of those in one trip to the Great Crystal; leaving restarts the count. The Larva Eater should appear near any of the waystones.

OK, I got him.

Interestingly I chained Mom Bombs this time. It took exactly the same amount of time, because there were fewer Oses in the zones I was going through last time, even though they were easier to fight.

I also discovered that you can use a save crystal inside without affecting the count. Also chaining isn't necessary, but it helps me keep count easily.

If nobody has Bestiary issues, this thread can be closed.
