Shocking poll reveals that the most used "Operating System" or "OS" is Windows, followed by Mac and Linux!

Currently XP on my desktop. For my laptop that is coming soon I plan on dual booting XP and some version of Linux.

Windows XP. I keep my computer clean as a whistle. A very clean whistle, mind you.
Because 2000 and XP have very similar architectures (NT), while 95/98/ME were more or less based on DOS... Vista is kind of weird, so it got a separate bar (apart from being weird I wanted to know how many people actually use it).

I could, but with an immense number of EoFFers using Linux, it wouldn't make too much sense.

The answer to both of those questions, for me at least, is Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

Also, my Mac runs 8.6 (since 8.6 is the leetness of mac) so it would also fit into OS 9 or earlier ("Classic")

I run Windows XP at the moment. I will likely upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate when I feel it's safe.

Linux interests me, but seeing as it's basically a mirror of other OSs with only a few differences, I see no real reason to switch - at the moment.

Windows XP Media Center, and I much rather keep this than get Vista.

Yeah cause the OS Frags Ram, misuses resources, and eats away at it's own file allocation table. Sounds like window I once had, then those kids broke it with a baseball. I have never been happier.

My Linux never had any problems and didn't need any restarts.

Linux install time: A few hours tops.
    Windows install time: A weekend.

Why on earth would you need a weekend to reinstall Windows? (unless you include the installation times of all the 3rd party apps that you "need", which isn't a problem with Linux due to their absence)

OSalt.com There is plenty of software available for Linux, should you ever need anything. A lot of it can require more skill to run, but it's fine by those who can use Linux to it's fullest. In fact, it is an industry observation that more of the accepted technologies are leaning more towards 3rd party standard com pliancy, which leaves little room for Microsoft's tendancies (of olde (I hope)) Let's see if Ozzy can turn around the behemoth and get MS on track to being a respectable corp. Doubt it though.

Meh, they are both alright, vista is stepping in a somewhat positive direction (become more complimentary to window's strategy, vs. trying to 'spray, pray, and fillet the market. Most clients and offices I work with still tend to be driven towards the Linux incentives vs that of Windows.

I have a partitioned hard drive with OS X on one side for all my photography/design/photoshop needs and Windows XP for all my gaming needs.
