if I remember correctly, Amelia, Ross and Ewan were all trainee characters which were exclusive to this game. They required more work than the other characters but in the end were beastly. It's no surprise you like them the most because they literally did break the game and made it too easy. The sad part is if you play through with the brother and the sister, then a third time, you can promote them to Super Trainee classes which just make them even more absurd.

And in Fire Emblem, I am a speed whore. If you're slow, I don't like you. I MIGHT have 1 general, but often times I'd prefer a Paladin or a Swordmaster. They have good enough HP, and don't get hit often. I love going entire rounds getting hit maybe once or twice when like 12 enemies attack.
