Default Which sounds like a better deal?

Alright, so I was driving down the road, and I notice this sign that says BUY THREE GET ONE FREE. But then I think to myself so would I be buying four for the price of three? But wait, what would make more of a deal? It's basically the same thing, but if I buy three, I get a fourth one free, but this is exactly the same as buying four for the price of three. ACK!

Anyway, what do you think sounds like a better deal if you suddenly came up to one.

    BUY THREE GET ONE FREE
    or
BUY FOUR FOR THE PRICE OF THREE!

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

I'd rather buy one for 25% off.

Same here. Then you're getting a discount on all four things, so to me it sounds like more.
Interesting idea, wish I had thought of this for my Statistics project.
Boy am I an unfunny ass.

But that wouldn't work in this instance, since you're saving when you buy 3 or less. You'll have to get four, but you're paying for three.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

How about "Buy two get two half off"? 1+1+.5+.5=3, correct? Proportionally that would be the same as "buy one get one half off." The lower the quantity they try to make you buy, the greater the effect will be (or at least that's what I say).

The four for three one looks pretty delightful.

People like free things. If you ever happen to be giving away free things, always stress upon the free-ness.

"Buy this get that for half the price you'd spend if you went over there"
