Default Should Wakka be considered a Ranger?

I was reading an article on the Ranger job on Wikipedia(See below)

The Hunter (sometimes called Archer, Ranger, or Gunner) is a physical class specializing in ranged weapons—such as bows and crossbows. Aside from their bow attacks, some Hunters have buff abilities that temporarily raise their stats, such as Aim, which raises accuracy;or Charge, which increases the damage that arrows inflict. They can inflict status effects with specialized arrows, and sometimes can detect, capture, or hide from enemies.
And I think Wakka fits this description. He has the Aim ability and he can buff his blitzball with Dark and Sleep attacks and Elements with his Slots Overdrive. True, he doesn't use Bows or Guns, but he uses his Bliztball for long range attacks. But that's just me though. What do you think? Should Wakka be considered a Ranger?

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

I've always considered him to be FFX's ranger.

Norwegians can't be rangers, that's foolish.

I always called him an archer...err...ummm...I mean ranger. My friends called me nuts for calling him an arch--ranger, but now I have proof!

Who cares he has the best glutes in that game.

Yes he is the ranged attack person unless you want to count lulu and her dolls, which you don't...and you won't.

By your defintion, I'd have to say yes. Although, am I the only one who thinks that the dialogue between him and Tidus is quasi-sexual? I laughed my ass off that whole game and insisted that they had something going on behind Yuna's back.

He could also be considered a Gambler (like Setzer) on account of his 'Reels' Overdrive.

FFCompendium's called him an archer for a pretty long time, with which I agree. I don't think Overdrives/Limit Breaks are good enough to decide what class a person really is (unless it's a game where all the characters are the same like 7 or 8) so no Gambler.

Wait, all FFX's characters are technically the same too :P Oh well.

Cool! Wakka, Spira Ranger. That'd make a good show.

i guess he could be considered a ranger, whatever makes you happy

If I was like Cloud I don't think I would have taken that test.
