Keep in mind that you will not be able to play the game without bypassing region coding, whether that involves using Swap Magic, modding your PS2 or importing a Japanese system. And even then you would need enough knowledge of Japanese to navigate the menus, or you could use the Ability Guides on Gamefaqs to get through, which I imagine would be tedious.
