Am I the only one who loves Rin?

Whenever I mention Rin, people tend to start talking about Maechen instead.
Yes, I know that Maechen rocks all the socks in the world, and I know he's got a very entertaining way of talking; but what about Rin?
Why does nobody ever mention him?

Personally, I think he's the coolest Al Bhed character in the whole game: I like how he's always completely relaxed, and I also find his voice really nice.
Once I get the airship, I always talk to him a few times just to hear the "May I help you?" and the "Thank you.".

yeh rin was pretty cool. if i keep all the besaid aurochs in my blitz team i tend to recruit rin as the final person, just because he's wearing a yellow and blue outfit

I like Rin a lot, but merchants rarely get much respect in RPGs; they tend to be perceived as mercenary (even the scrupulous ones).

For some reason his voice actor reminds me of George Takei.

I didn't like him!I thought he was kinda "slick"...
I hated it when he tried to sell me stuff when Evrae attacked the airship.I mean wth,he was in it too!!
Anyway,i liked o'aka more!

I thought he was a bit smarmy, i.e a typical merchant. Interesting, though, that he seemed to be the only Al Bhed, apart from Rikku's family, who didn't always hide behind his goggles. (They were pushed up).

Characters who hide their eyes all the time are harder to relate to, so the characters we are meant to like and trust have their eyes exposed.

Interestingly because of the Al Bhed penchant for goggles, their green eyes with swirling pupils are not a widely recognized trait of their people. Lulu and Yuna are in the know, for obvious reasons. Poor Tidus and Wakka are oblivious as usual.
