Here is the much better trailer:
    Gametrailers.com - Killzone 2 - E3 2007 On-Stage Demonstration HD

Yeah I saw this on Wednesday. The developers said the game is still in alpha stage and its all in game. When they showed this just before the sony conference they also played the game in front of the press, and they stopped it once in a while and rotated the camera to show that it was in real-time.
While the textures are not yet as good as gears of war, the amount of stuff that is going onscreen + the already amazing graphics cant be beat. Make sure to watch the higher quality trailer.
They came close to the target render, and with this still being in alpha (6 months MINIMUM to further fine tune the game) it should look amazing.

(But the sound is coming from another booth about halfway through the trailer so its a little messy)

You Say Halo 3 Don't worry you
    Instead you offer Killzone 2
    But Killzone 1 sucked before
So what made you think we wanted more?

That's pretty much what comes to my mind when I hear Killzone 2

Yeah Killzone 1 was crap, but that doesnt mean anything in regards to this game. And can we please not get fanboy chants on EoFF aswell?

My only qualm is in the characters' faces - they seem stiff, and even sometimes flat. Basically, as real and visceral as most of the game seems to be, the characters' faces haven't seemed to have received as much attention as they ought to have.

I want to see folds and creases in the skin, perhaps some gritty facial hair as well.

Other than that, I am very pleased with where they are taking this.

Yeah this is pretty much what everyones been saying. They definitely look stiff. But facial animation is often something that is enhanced at the end of the development cycle. Devs said their still working on it.

Yes, I presumed as much. I suppose it's not quite fair to judge a game when it's only in the alpha stage.

I think its fair to compare it to other alpha builds. And they did choose to show the alpha, which is something not many developers do.
But yes I think the end product will look quite a bit better.

Im pretty impressed actually. It may not be up to the standards of the E3 2006 trailer, but its still some of the best graphics ive ever seen, so its easy to forgive. The game seems pretty intense. It was incredible just watching, never mind playing. And those lighting effects were out of this world. I know the original didnt live up to the hype but this isnt a doomed franchise. Killzone: Liberation was a good game, so we know they can do something right.

Heh, I guess I'm one of the few people who thoroughly enjoyed the original Killzone. Aside from minor graphical bugs here and there, I can't really fault that game.

    In a few years, when I can finally afford a PS3, Killzone 2 will be a must-purchase.

I'm not sure where this, "it doesn't look quite as good as the original target render trailer" is coming from. I've looked at both side by side now and I think the actual real time footage looks better in a lot of ways (namely lighting and the destructability of some environment elements). Killzone was a decent FPS if you ask me. The only thing that kept it from being great were the technical glitches. The developers had a little more ambition than the PS2 had the power to handle. It would seem that that's not the case this time and that should be a very good thing for us gamers.

This game looks less visceral than a nerf gun. Seriously, watching that, the gun looks like it lacks any sort of feeling of 'kick' or power.

It looks great, no denying. The gameplay looks less impressive, though.

Looks nice enough. Wonder how it'll play though...

How so? The sound seems meaty enough. I guess there's little muzzle flash and kickback, but that's just modern guns for you.
