I loved that song. I think it plays at the end ofthe game as well. I love the woman's deep voice. I have no idea what it's called but when you leave the hallway it is replaced byu some hallway theme. So I hate leaving the hallway.

I know what you're talking about, they also play it after every Planet, like Vanguard II and when you save the orb at Elicoor.

It's called "Tobikata wo Wasureta Chiisa na Tori (Star Ocean Version" translated as The Little Bird that Forgot How to Fly. Google it and you should come across an mp3 eventually.
It's also called 'The Little Bird' on the sound test, along with the instrumental version which plays during some cutscenes. It isn't on either of the OSTs, but it is on MISIA's album 'Kiss in the Sky'.
