I've never heard of that kind of cat (it's huge!) but it sounds super fun ^_^ I wouldn't mind having one.

Those are beautiful cats.18 pounds isn't all that big though. Mine is just a regular big orange cat and he's 20+ pounds.
I don't have a favourite breed because I find each and every cat to be unique and beautiful in their own way.

Hello Pika Art by Dr Unne ~~~ godhatesfraggles
Ooh, those cats are beautiful NE.
I don't know what breed my cat is. All I know is she's adorable and she makes me happy.
Therefore, I have no favorite breed. It all depends on a cat's personality. If a cat's playful/cuddly, I'll love it. If a cat's one of those run-and-hide cats or ones that bite/scratch (not playfully), I probably won't like them.
I also like all cats, but my kitty is a saimese..siamese...it's a freaking oriental cat.
I saw your title and was going to post maine coon. My cat aomy looked a whole lot like the second one your posted.
we never tried to teach him any tricks, but he definitely liked watching toilets flush and had a beautiful meow. I am going to try and record my imitation of it. I haven't heard it in a few months so I might be rusty
you forgot the tufts of fur between the pads on their feet!
[edit- nm about recording because it loses all the texture of the sound and it just sounds like a dumb human meowingI used to be able to fake my parents out with it though xD]
I bet they're crazy expensive though (marine coons. And well, cats in general)
In China kittens cost $5 Chinese, pretty much all kinds. That's over 50 cents in American money. :\ And they're cute too. Puppies cost $10. It's too bad I can't bring like ten of each back on the planes. In all the pet stores in America I've seen them to be for ~$100 American. u_u;

I have a picture of him staring one of my nephews in the face, which I kinda wish I had handy since you mentioned them being as big as babies xDs
My friend's cat woke me up this morning by forcing its tongue into my clsoed mouth. Not cool.
Maine Coon's are very beautiful cats, and very big. The only bigger cat I've seen was a feral stray that we used to feed and love on. He was about 23 lbs of muscle, and about two feet long. HUGE kitty. Big teeth. Sweet guy, though.
I don't really have a preferred breed when it comes to cats. Abyssinians are interesting looking.
Signature by rubah. I think.
Maine Coon are pretty cool. I know one and he is a very angry character. He doesn’t like people at all! But I guess that’s why he’s cool—he doesn’t sell out, not even when someone has food. And that takes guts, because if you’re (a cat and) not willing to make a human feel good about itself, how can you be sure you’re going to get fed? I would feed him, anyway, because if I didn’t, he would lower his head and growl at me. I didn’t like the growling. :( A few times I ignored him, but I learned my lesson: he decided to go out and catch weird crippled lizards, and leave them on my floor to write in pain for hours. Then it would crawl under my bed and I’d have to live knowing there was some freak-show bulging beneath my mattresses. And that’s not living, man!
But when it really comes down to it, I’m a sucker for a British Shorthair.
I'm not a cat person in the slightest and I know nothing about them.
Give me a doggy any day!
