The Sims 2

I've got Sims 2, Nightlife and University. I'll probably get more when I get a job.

I have Sims 2 and the University expansion. Lately, though, my good ol' trusty game has decided to reject the computer and not load. At all.

Try going to My Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 and deleting groups.cache. Sometimes that gets corrupted and causes the game to just plain not load. The game will regenerate it.

Because I have so much custom content, I have to do this often.

My sister-in-law is pretty addicted. She like made our entire family in a neighborhood or something and it takes her like fifteen minutes to load the game up with all the content. I don't see a point in it all, but I guess it's a chick thing.

I tried the first one, but never go into it. I see myself playing Spore, though.

If spore manages to live up to its expectations, it could very well be the best game ever.

I haven't played The Sims 2 since January of 06, and that makes me sad. And yes, Mod the Sims 2 is fantastic. :O I should pick up an expansion some time. But then again, there are so many games I have to play, so many AP classes to take...

Maybe I'll wait 'till I'm 40 to pick it back up again.

Mine took 23 minutes to load last time I timed it.

I have it, no expansion pack though. I played it a while and it was entertaining for a bit, but... eventually got bored.

I can't play Sims 2 or just about anything else on my computers because I have Gateways and they suck at gaming.

i love the sims but i only have the first one! pluss i cant seem to download anything for it

Alright, I have a fresh, clean slate, with all of the expansions waiting to be installed.

Is there anything OMFG awesome I ought to do before I load all of these expansions, or am I able to install them all and then get various mods and the like?

And also, since I am in the mode of asking, where might I find some good FREE sites that offer free content?

Installing mods is quite easy, there isn't anything difficult to it. You should get the Sims Clean installer though, it will make sure that the mods you install don't have any files that might cause conflict. Also, backup your saves often.
