My brother has that on his summer reading list. I looooooved it.

The Scarlet Letter is all we were actually assigned (which I've decided to procrastinate the hell out of, because from what I hear it's terrible), but we're supposed to have read at least 10 books on a provided list of about 20. And since I've already read 15 of them, I'm not going above and beyond the call of duty to read the other 5. I'm trying to read most of Charles Dickens' works this summer just for enjoyment. So far I've read Hard Times, Bleak House, and Oliver Twist. Hard Times was byfar the best.

I read The Scarlet Letter during the school year. It was pretty awful, so dry and boring.

My advice? Sparknote it.
