so....have any favourite episodes?
damn I thought you where talking bout that golden earring song.
Too big. <-- yeah i heard that one before
sadly and though it's a rockin' song, no. i guess no one likes the old twilight zone as much as i do...oh well.
Two years ago a friend of mine bought the complete series collection and i saw almost all of the originals.
I can't choose a favourite,they were all small masterpieces.
Rod Sterling was great,i especially liked it when he introduced each episode (but not all of them) always with a cigarette in hand.
The music was classic too.
One of the best tv series of all time (the first season that is)!
Some of my favorites:
A man is jailed for the 1890's equivalent of vehicular homicide and his desperate father buys what he thinks is magic dust from a seedy traveling salesman. The payoff at the gibbet is very moving.
A couple find a camera that takes pictures of the near future. Obviously they think they have it made, but it turns out to be as much a blessing as a curse.
A henpecked man wants to do nothing but read, but the world always makes too many demands of his time. By freak chance he gets his wish to be alone, with an unexpected price.
A man takes an airplane ride and thinks he sees something out on the wing. Very suspenseful.
A magic fortune-telling machine accurately predicts the future, but the hints are maddeningly and addictively vague.
there's.....SOMETHINGONTHEWING..SOME..THING........
ONTHEWING!
The one where like you see the show from the perspective of this lady, and all she does is talk about what a freak she looks like or something but her face is covered up by gauze from plastic surgury and then when they take the gauze up she looks like a completely normal pretty human woman, but then everyone else is screaming because they're all alien-esque.
I Shot An Arrow Into The Air is epic.
It's A Good Life is scary as hell.
One More Pallbearer.
He's Alive.
Nightmare at 20,000 Feet is, of course, iconic and genius.
The new Twilight Zone isn't anything to write home about, however the new Outer Limits is. The New Breed is... utopian. Inconstant Moon is amazing and chilling and I <3 it. Trial By Fire is hellzyeah epic.
The Visitors (I think that was the episode name) was one of the scariest things I ever saw growing up. The Twilight Zone and Rod Serling were genius.
I like the one where the country singer needs a place to stay so he goes to this old music shop in the middle of nowhere, then something happens, he leaves and walks around the woods, and he walks by his own grave. At 3:00 a.m., that freaked me out.
