I don't think it's possible to be a genuine nerd, without being fragile, an having a conflict avoiding personality. I also think you have to have the nerd looks. If you don't fit the bill visually, you're falling short, of nerd status. Nobody wants to see a nerd without glasses, it's just not right. So since I don't have nerd looks, I'm not physically fragile, an I don't have a conflict avoiding personality, I can't be a nerd by my book.

this is true. if you think of the classic 'nerd' or 'geek' image, most people would show like a skinny, bespectacled guy with a tucked in shirt, floodpants, and a rock tumbler who gets nosebleeds a lot...in short, URKEL.

I can play video games from 12 in the morning to 3 in the morning, the only thing I really like on tv is anime, the only thing I read outside of school is manga, I have 8 disks to final fantasy 9. (I bought it twice), I'm always bored, I'm almost always online

Oh, I used to use linux, but I got bored of the whole development thing, but I suppose I do get to keep SOME nerd points from that, seeing as I was using an advanced distro.

I'm so nerdy I know the difference between a nerd and a geek. Oh, and I'm a bit of a History nerd. That's quite nerdy (as indeed the name implies!).

The nerdiest things about me:

1. I have been a gamer since before I could talk and walk. I started on the NES and have been gaming since then. I own several systems and a library of games, most of which I have yet to touch. I collect them more than I play them, although I do a good amount of playing.

2. I have a vast knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons 3.0 Rules and I have yet to take part in a single scenario in which I could put them to use. I have created several characters and several campaigns because I find them enjoyable and challenging to create. I read the source books for fun and could spend hours looking at the Monster Manual.

3. I play World of Warcraft and have several characters. If I am to take part of a raid, I tell people in real life that I cannot do anything because I am otherwise engaged on that day and time.

I do not consider myself a nerd.

No, that's a nerd, in my opinion. I think of geeks as nerds with social problems. They are the "pizza faces." The nerds who have lost touch with reality.

Unless I have them backwards, which I don't think I do.

But I'm also super cool and don't consider myself a nerd/geek/whatever.
