Handaxe?
I was shopping at one stage, and I found a weapon named Handaxe. It is an 18 bonus damage from my Zwill blades, so I bought one for Basch. I take it to the field, start attacking some Skeletons in Lhusu Mines. It deals from 40-500 damage. I take it to the East Sandsea and it deals 30-700 damage. Is there a reason for this and are there any other weapons like this?
It's because It is an unreliabal weapon sometimes it does loads sometimes it barely does any its luck with axes.
I believe the same applies for hand bombs as well.

Also the range differ by the defense abilities of the monsters.
Only barely. My Zwill blades hit 200-250 depending on the monster.
Axes are the stronger weapons in the game, but very unreliable. I used them a lot but some people hate it.

I always used axes or hammers with Vaan most of the way through the game, and despite the occasional weak hit, most of the time I was doing as much or more damage than my other characters weapons. I even got 2-4 hit combos fairly regularly so I loved using axes.
I've stopped using Axes and Maces completely. I'm using Katanas now. I'm level 27 and can easily take out enemies with 13,000 health.
You'll learn to appreciate Maces when magic is needed...Axes/Hammers = very useful in certain battles, it may be random and sometimes unreliable, but can finish a battle quickly if luck is on your side. The latter Greatswords are the best though.
EOFF needs a resurgence to it's former glory.
I'll tell you what finishes battles quickly. Quickenings. And yeah, I really want to find some greatswords.
It's fun to use. Not gonna lie, I'm gonna give Vaan a Hammer/Axe in my new game. Just for fun! =D
When you are in a trouble and you get 1-7 dmg. with 5 hit combo you wish you never bought it...
