Isn't skillful micromanagement sort of one of the key elements of Starcraft? How is that not actual gameplay?

Not on the level they've got going on. That's much more WCIII like for my taste.

Their bases are so poorly defended, that if even one of them attempted a Reaver drop (or Tank, or Lurker, or anything with range and AoE), it would painfully gg or screw with the opposing economy and build structure.

They just quit when they lose all of their units, when with three extra bases and ample money, they could easily rebuild and storm the enemy. But I guess that's why few Americans go to tournament; our matches aren't exciting, even if it gets the job done much faster.

I'll admit, you don't want to lose units, obviously, and micro is very handy, but so is actually trying to win, rather than who can click and shortcut the fastest.

EDIT: Makes me wonder, though, what a Korean LotRish (lol heroes) or a Korean on WCIII would be like. The only Ladder matches I've been able to find were of the Season IV, and I'm somewhat certain most of the contenders are white. I could be wrong.

All I have to say on this matter:

Walrusis with Moai makes me subscribe forever.

    Without fail, on every whim,
    Which we did demand,
He simply smiled and waved his hand,
And sent us 'cross the land.

    –Chorus–
    Farewell to thee, Placeholder,
Your ship has sailed to sea.
We'll tip our hats and pray one day
To be as great as thee.
Captain P, you'll never know the emptiness inside
As we sit ashore on Menethil, waitin' for a ride.

    –Verse 2–
Time did pass, until, one day,
    That silhouette did fade.
    Where once we found Placeholder
    Only scattered winds remained.
    The stormy sea went silent
On that dark and dreary day.
    But come along, my friends,
Let's raise a glass up for his name!

    –Chorus–

    –Musical Interlude–

    –Verse 3–
So when you find yourself lamenting
    On that lonely pier,
Watching as the ships come in,
    And dryin' off your tears,
Believe in what he stood for,
And I know that he’ll survive.
    Inside our hearts dear Placeholder
    Will always be alive!

    –Chorus–

Your observations of professional StarCraft matches are laughable. You clearly either haven't watched many, or don't understand what you have seen.

Also, there are many professional WarCraft III players from South Korea.

Actually, I have, and they make me feel as though I've seen the same thing over and over.

I'm not nearly as interested in WCIII stuff, since I don't melee.

I've actually watched several Korean matches where Reaver drops were used, and they were usually effectively countered by the opposing player. I've not seen any matches like you described, a lot of them I've seen are extremely tenacious in attempting a comeback.

Until they announce a Diablo sequel or spin-off, I refuse to give them my love.

...Oh, alright, I still like you Blizzard. Starcraft II looks sexy . I wish I could have gone to this!

They announced plans for a WoW movie at this con and want a 100 million budget for it. I wonder if that will go down or not.

Edit: And booo, Sir Taffy, Hellgate: Londen still doesn't get to count as a Diablo III so don't you even ruffle my feathers.

Proof or it didn't happen. Not even Blizzard trusts Blizzard to talk about Blizzard games. They are French-owned, after all. Not that it matters. I wouldn't expect DIII before 2010, with an optional five year delay.
