Please help! Can I get back into Besaid Temple without fighting dark valefor??

I'm in desperate need of some help here!

I'm trying to get anima, and i have all of the statues lit except the one for Besaid. I've looked all over the internet for solutions on how to avoid fighting dark valefor, found a couple but they didn't work. I'm too lazy for stat maxing, so beating him is a serious last resort!

Does anyone know of ANY way that I can get back into besaid without fighting him? Is it even possible?

There's no way to get past him, or as far as I know.
Just spheregrid level up, and fight him.

There is one way: Zanmato. That way, you just stand there while Yojimbo cuts it up rough like a sacrifice article and you don't have to fight it.

Start a new game and you won't have to beat him to get into Besaid. But that's probably a little extreme.

Alternatively, you can go buy FFX NTSC and not have to worry about accidentally missing timeslots.

Yojimbo is your friend. One-hit kill with Zanmato, even against the Dark Aeons.

He doesn't seem too hard, though.
I tried fighting him without doing any training, and I stayed alive for more than a minute.

Yea the easy way around him is with Zanmato, I much prefer waiting on Dark Valefor until my party can take him with ease, restart if I don't get a super leet item. Seeing as you don't have Anima though.

Dark Valefor isn't hard to beat even without Yojimbo. A bit luck and aeon using and that fight won't be a problem.

These are the Dark Aeons fought in the International version and the PAL version. They are uber-bosses, part of the Penance sidequest, who is also an Aeon.

It's only in Europe (PAL), and International (Europe and Japan).
