Well, I live in the suburbs of Chicago, and I can easily take a train there. :}

As for suggestions, I'm always down for video games.

But I'm not down for expensive things. And the sears tower is pretty expensive and ... really boring. D:

I like museums, especially the one of Science and Industry. Hmm ... or just walking around. There's a giant bean in Millenium Park, which is beautiful. I know there might be a free concert going on. I can search facebook for free things happening, if you guys would like.

Once again, how far is Texas from the Chicago area?

what part of texas? It is a rather large state. Fromt hte northern part, I would guess like 7 hours. not sure though. maps.google.com might give you a good idea from your place.

From Dallas to Chicago it is

972 mi – about 14 hours 40 mins

according to google maps.

I will be looking up how to do the whole free hotel thing tonight.

Also it has been raining here a lot as you might know. So the zoo might be out of the question. I suggest we pick a backup plan.

Isn't one of the zoos free? On the weekend it would be murder, though.

I know the Art Institute is free on Wednesdays, and some other museums might have the same type of thing going on.

All of these places will be murder on the weekend. But tough . People have work during the week so the weekend it is.
