Gah! Deathbringer help, please.

Okay, so I am onto the Stillshrine of Miriam, characters are all level 27. (Well, at least my main party.) I've decided I want to do the Ithuno/Deathbringer challenge. I have the Barheim key, and I know exactly where he spawns.

So, I'm up to about 40 restarts of the game because he never appears! Are there certain conditions that make him appear, or is it completely random? And if it's random, what's the % Chance of spawn?

Well, if he's a rare game and strictly open for the trophy club, then I think the Ithuno/Deathbringer challenge wouldn't be available right now, but only when you visit the Hunts-master in the Phon Coast, join the club, then complete your first assignment and other rare games will begin to appear; still with certain conditions though, and each having their varied percentage of spawning.

Ithuno is not a Trophy monster, so it's available now. It appears at random, and I don't know the chance of it appearing, but I think it's fairly low. Sorry.

There's 20% chance every time you enter Special Op Sector 5. So if you keep leaving and re-entering, he'll be forced to appear. I went as far as north of the orange save crystal and that worked fine. I was able to bag six of them eventually, and I still have some equipped.

Make sure you have thief's cuffs equipped on all three characters to higher the percentage of getting the Deathbringer!

Btw, is it possible to get like three tournesols?

Actually, try this:

Walk into Special Op Sector 5, then walk out. Keep going in and out about ten times. I think once Ithuno appears in the zone, he won't leave until you defeat him.

And I think you can get as many Tournesols as you want but one would be plenty for me.

Balthier Rocks - you just uber-overleveled, that's why. You're supposed to be level 15-20 when you finish the Ogir yensa Sandsea venture, at the end of the tomb of Raithwell, then I would say 20-23 is amazingly good. I'm at raining Giza Plains (second playthrough) and only level 20/21.

I only have like one Tournesol, and it took me the whole afternoon to get it.

Being severely underleveled makes the game that much more interesting.

You're welcome.

Deathbringers are the workhorses in my game. There are few better weapons that can be equipped with a shield. Once Zodiac Spear and Excalibur become available then they will be less useful, but that'll be much later.

Completed the main plot up to Sky Fortress Bahamut. I went and beat the game, now I'm going back to the optional dungeons. Completed the Henne Mines extension, Pharos Subterra and most of the Great Crystal. I have only(!) Omega Mk. XII and Yiazmat left to defeat.

I have about a dozen rare items that I haven't gotten yet, including the Tournesol. I also got stuck in the fishing game at the medium level of difficulty.

I'm roughly doing the same as you, except I've got the tournesol but haven't completed all the side quests and so on.

Btw, is it possible to get like three tournesols?

I'm pretty sure it can only be unlocked once. AFAIK, Bazaar weapons are non-repeatable.
