What levels are your characters at? If Big bang is killing you, you probobly should level up a few levels.

Big Bang shouldn't be one-shotting the party at those levels (except for maybe Rydia). You'll still need to keep Curaja on everyone up with Rosa at all times though, that's basically all she should do the entire battle.

Zeromus counters spells like Flare or Bahamut with his own Flare, and Holy with Tornado, so watch out. If you just keep your party healed constantly you shouldn't have a problem at your levels. Try turning down the battle speed if you're still having trouble.

You can steal an item from Zeromus' first form called Dark Matter. If you manage to steal it, you can reduce the damage done by Big Bang.

If you are playing the SNES/PS1 version...your battle is much harder. Here, Rosa's Curaja/Cure4 takes longer time to cast the spell. So what'll happen is this:

    1. Big Bang will hurt your party by 2000 each almost every turn.
    2. Rosa will try to cast Cure4 to heal, but at around level 65, Cure4 only heals the party for 1000 each. It also takes a long time to cast.
    3. Zeromus will deal damage with Big Bang faster than Rosa can cure your party with Cure4, and you are screwed.

The only think I could think of doing is having Cecil and Kain, the ones who can survive Big Bang for more than two turns, attack and heal themselves with Elixers when their HP is low.

Fortunately, I don't think you are playing the SNES/PS1 version.
If you are playing the GBA version, just have Rosa keep on using Curaja on the party every turn she gets. Use it even Zeromus uses his next Big Bang; try to time it so that she'll heal the party immediately after Big Bang. Curaja/Cure4 is also faster in this game compared to the other two versions.

If you're playing the PS1 version (hard type) I recommend you do as PuPu said, with a little tweaking.

    A. Cast reflect on the party before you get his other form out there. Then cast spells on him, he'll counter with a spell and it will be reflected back to him, you can do a decent amount of damage quickly that way.

    B. When everyone dies except Cecil and Kain you should be trying to time Kain's jump so he can avoid Big Bang. This can be done by having Kain Jump right when Zeromus makes his "shake", that way you can save all of your elixers for Cecil.

In the GBA version I too had problems with Zeromus and his Big Bang, even with my entire party above lv 60. So I lowered the battle speed, that's a first thing that can help. I don't have much to add to what others said. Rosa should cast Curaja every turn.

What I do have to add, is this: if you have Mega-Elixers, don't be afraid to use em. And if you're not afraid of some gambling, scrap Rydia attacking and have her summon Asura to back up Rosa. I found Asura's curaga/curaja whatever she uses much more powerful than Rosa's curaja and it did save my sorry behind plenty of times during that battle. The problem is that what Asura casts is random. But you can always hope for the best, right?

Besides, Rydia not attacking is not that big of a deal. Zeromus counters Meteor, Flare or MegaFlare anyway. And Cecil, Kain and Edge are strong enough to burn through Zeromus' HP by themselves.

Just level up to level 70 or so outside the save point that's about three boards back. then level up in the first place with the crystal floors.

    Sephiro this here.

The effect of Dark Matter is not constant, that is, sometimes it'll reduce the damage of Big Bang, but other times it'll increase the damage.

I believe you mean that the PlayStation and GBA versions are harder than the SNES version...unless of course, it's the hardtype SNES version you were referring to.

Rosa casting Curaja every turn should be sufficient...it should be healing for more than just 1000 damage. If your party has full HP, wait until Big Bang hits to recover so that Rosa doesn't waste her MP on healing the party at full health.

Don't worry about Rydia dying, her poor HP ensures that she won't survive a Big Bang unless she's at a very high level. Zeromus will counterattack Bahamut with Flare, so Rydia isn't the most damage-dealing character in this battle.

As for the Reflect strategy, it is only really useful if you are attempting a low-level clear. If you're playing a normal game, there are far more damaging things that the party is capable of. Just have Edge throw all of your best weapons, Cain Jumping, Cecil attacking or using items (such as when Rosa's MP gets low), and Rosa casting Curaja on everyone every single turn, when the party is damaged. If Rydia somehow survives, try using her weaker summons other than Bahamut, unless you don't mind the Flare.

I used Asura to heal for massive hps restoration. I only need to heal twice Through the whole fight. However, someone did die like on the last turn due to Weak and something else, otherwise everyone was at full health. So just don't suck. Cain jumping takes too long, he did about the same damage with a regular attack iirc.

Throw the spoon, and best swords.

The value of Jump is not only in it's damage, but also the safety it provides. Cain can avoid a Big Bang if timed correctly. And, if Cain is in the air, and Rosa targets the four other party members with Curaja, then she'll heal more HP.
