Maybe it was Biggs' and Jessie's parents and they are really brother and sister. OMG PREQUEL!

Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
Have a nice day!!
Possibly, though I doubt she could easily have been older than an infant. It is hard to tell from the character models, but she could just as easily be ten as four or five years old. My point wasn't that it was definitely Biggs and Jessie, but that it could be. I think I've shown that it's possible. Also keep in mind that it could have been them and Square just had no regard for any actual timeline. I believe the game does mention Aeris and Tseng playing together when they were kids, though a flash back clearly shows Tseng to be in the Turks already when she's still a kid (that's probably due to the poor translation though).
I thought they were just using the same sprites too.
lol, Aerith and Tseng playing together may be a 10 year olds view of hiding from him while he looked for her (Hide & Seek), i always got the impression that Aerith was around 10 when she was taken in by Elmyra, by her speach patterns, she doesn't speak with a lisp in any of the flashbacks as most game makers make their 10 and under characters speak in, which is sortta explained by Elmyra when she says Aerith seemed a bit more mature than most children her age, and she definatealy would not have been an infant otherwise she would not have been walking around when Elmyra met Ilfana, she would have been crawling at most...
Jessie and Biggs are both there so Square get an excuse to make another FF7 sequel![]()
If I was like Cloud I don't think I would have taken that test.
Changed to stop Jessweeee♪ from going insane. Is that better?
You're right about that being a poor translation - the line of dialogue happens when Tseng has been wounded at the Temple of the Ancients. Aerith says to Cloud, "...I've known him since we were little." This could easily give the impression that she's known Tseng since she and Tseng were little, but in reality she means she's known Tseng since she and Cloud were little. I'm pretty sure this has been confirmed by someone, somewhere, somehow. Possibly by a direct translation of the Japanese script, or maybe a reference to the Ultimania.I believe the game does mention Aeris and Tseng playing together when they were kids, though a flash back clearly shows Tseng to be in the Turks already when she's still a kid (that's probably due to the poor translation though).
In the flashback where you see those sprites that look like Jessie and Biggs, it's possible that it could be them, since Aerith is 7 in that scene. If Biggs and Jessie are in their teens as some people have guessed, then that'd make them about thirty in the game. So it could be them, they could have just broken up before the game started...
I thought that the two people embracing were the same as the two lovers you see at the train station with Cloud near the beginning of the game.
Yeah sure they're dead, but that doesn't mean they weren't an item. Also, who the hell cares if Jessie was flirting with Cloud. She could've just appreciated the blonde-hair, the blue-eyes, the ex-SOLDIER past, the earlier sense of confidence, or maybe OMG she could've been throwing herself at him to make Biggs jealous. *gasp* "That's impossible."
What I want to know is this: How the hell old are these people?
If that really is them in that flashback, they were already late-teens or going on early-twenties and yo, Aerith was just a kid. Aerith's a year older than Cloud so that'd mean Jessie would be robbin' the cradle if she actually got it on with the VII hero. No wonder he wasn't interested.
That's a blatant lie.
Jack: How do you know?
Will: It's more of a feeling really.
Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?
Will: No.
If Demolition Man were remade today
Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
Huxley: NO!
Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
Spartan: But Huxley.
Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.
By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
I don't think those two characters are supposed to be Jessie and Biggs.![]()
They did die. It is explicitly stated in FFVII by Barret that all three of them died. They did not actually die they make an appearence on dirge of cerberus which is based after ff7
I agree, I think they were just reused sprites. Aeris was 7 in the flashback, as Elmyra says her husband was sent off to war 15 years ago. I'm sure it's possible that B & J could have been teenage lovers at that point, making them slightly older (Barret is 35, so they're not all young). Still makes Jessie liking Cloud a little dodgy...but hey, his mom said he needed someone older! Hehe.I don't think those two characters are supposed to be Jessie and Biggs
Too big.
Don't forget that there could have been 2 other combinations: biggs and other female sprite, jessie and other male sprite. There were certainly enough sprites to have gone with these combinations, if it was just randomly chosen.
That the Biggs and Jessie sprites were chosen together I'd say it was likely, although not definite, that square intended these two to be Biggs and Jessie from AVALANCHE.
I never really thought about it up until now, actually, but what Firo Volondé makes most sense to me. I naturally assumed it was Biggs and Jessie when they younger but never realised that, obviously, that would've made them significantly older in the present day.
Not my words Carol, the words of Top Gear magazine.
