I thought he lied about having a car and stole one after they escaped the jail so they would help get him out of prison.

I'll watch the eps this weekend as I have some free time now to confirm, but I vaguely remember a large SUV-ish vehicle. That's black. Too big a coincidence :)

I'm loathed to agree, but really, remember the first season never got good until much later in the series.

When Peter teleported to the future by mistake, I was pretty sad that the storyline might mirror the first season. I hope not.
