 Also, the term "pop" first came into use when bottled pop was developed; people started calling it "pop" because of the "POP!" sound that it made when you opened it.  I have yet to open a bottle or can of pop that screams "SODA!" at me.
That's why "pop" is better IMO, where's your argument?
