Do I need a patch or what?

Ok, I have RPG Maker XP on my pc at home. It has windows XP, but my laptop has Windows Vista. I put it on my laptop and it will let me work on the games, but not play them. Does anyone know why? Do I need a patch or what do I need to do to get it to work?

Try upgrading to Windows XP

There this option: RPG MAKER™ XP

Where it tells you to download an .exe that will update your program. Though, I bet it'd only work for legal copies of the software, if that's a factor for you.
