Thread: Wii Downloads & Gamecube Games

Default Wii Downloads & Gamecube Games

My girlfriend just got a Wii, and I thought I'd ask here in a new thread than hi-jack the other.

What are some good classics to download? I figure they are kind of more expensive than I thought, so it'd be nice to know exactly which ones to watch out for.

Also, what are some good Gamecube games? They seem a lot cheaper now, so it'll be easy enough to get some.

    Starfox (N64)
    The colour Kirby game
Echo the Dolphin (if you're into long and relaxing adventure games)
Zelda: Links adventure (something like that)

    To name a few.

Link's Adventure is the worst Zelda game. :P Get any of the other ones before you get Link's Adventure.

Star Fox 64 and Paper Mario are definitely good choices. Super Mario 64 has some good replay value to it, too. :o

Super Smash Brothers Melee. This should be an obvious one.
    Soul Calibur II
    Super Mario Sunshine
    Mario Kart: Double Dash
    And many others.

If you can download N64 games, Diddy Kong Racing and Pokemon Stadium. Definitely.

They're not. Pokemon Stadium would suck without a transfer pak, anyway.

    Link.

    Cool, thanks guys. =)

I think Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 would be good as well.

What other Gamecube games can you recommend?

There are a lot of lost treasures among the GameCube library out there. It really depends on what kinds of games you guys like.

I think every game that has been mentioned so far is worth your money. Most of them are published by Nintendo, after all. Here are some more that I personally own or would recommend:

    Viewtiful Joe (and/or VJ2)
    Eternal Darkness
Beyond Good and Evil (if you don't have it for another console)
Prince of Persia (if you don't have it for another console)
Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (if you're at all into Star Wars or flight games)
    RESIDENT EVIL 4
    Animal Crossing
    Ikaruga
    Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
F-Zero GX (Hard as , though)
Skies of Arcadia Legends (A little dated now, but still fun)

Make sure you have a couple wavebirds, too. Not many things are more lame than having a brand new wireless console that you use old wired technology with.

From the Virtual Console, get these

    Breath of Fire II
Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2
    Paper Mario(N64)
    Star Fox 64
Shining Force(though I own the GBA version and I recommend getting that version instead)
    Street of Rage 2
    Star Soldier
    TMNT(NES)
    Metroid
    Super Metroid

As for Gamecube games, I highly recommend these

    Bloody Roar Primal Fury
    F-Zero GX
    Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
    Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
    Mario Superstar Baseball
    Mario Kart Double Dash
    Mega Man X Collection
    Mega Man X Command Mission
    Metroid Prime 1 and 2
    Mystic Heroes
    Paper Mario TTYOD
Phantasy Star Online Ep 1 and 2
    Super Smash Bros. Melee
    Skies of Arcadia Legends
    Tales of Symphonia
    Viewtiful Joe

Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"
