I have been to that guy's website. He is a really good writer and his video's are meant to be taken with a grain of salt. Take off the fanboy goggles once in awhile.

Beware guys, if you are a true fan of this game then don't watch the videos because they are easily influential and can change the way of how much you like this game.

a) Not all of us are 13.
b) Not all of us are cretins who read other people's opinions and pass them off as our own due to feeling menaced otherwise.
c) I don't care what this guy thinks. Nobody cares what I think when I rag on Mario 64 and FFTA, so there.

Yeah, it was pretty funny and some of the stuff I agree with him about (such as drawing magic for hours on end), but it's still my favourite FF. The guy should finish it off.

Funny review indeed, but it wont change the fact that FFVIII is still one of my favourite games.
He takes whats bad and obviously annoying about the game, and makes his review around it. Just like the angry nintendo nerd.
I dont know whether or not this was made prior or after the release of AVGNs videos, or of it was inspired by it at all, but it shares some of the same elements.

You just gotta take the video for what it is, and enjoy it.
I did, but I dont think any less of FFVIII couse of it.

I like FF8 a lot and I found the first part pretty funny . Though he apparently does the same thing lots of other people do - thinking the gf sequences are useless, when you can use them to boost :rolleyes2

Well I actually enjoyed it. This is my favourite FF game, but I can see where the guy is coming from with the junction system. I feel like correcting him when he keeps complaining about the tuttorial's "PRESS TRIANGLE DAMMIT!" ... or was that circle? meh, i don't have a playstation anymore. I know there's a button that skips them.

and the Diablo thing was hillarious.

the diablos thing was funny though his technique for beating it is flawed, the best way is to use 3 protects from the earlier boss fight....then to draw and stock demi's and then fire them back at Diablos to get a free curaga thus always keeping one person in the battle (generally use selphie for this) since blind only reduces the chance of being hit by around 20% or so (at least versus diablos it does), he also goes on about the shop system and how it wasn't available until he you get tonberry GF...but then went on to say how when he brought the train ticket he had to sell items to pay for it, he also went on about how difficult to get cash was in FF games when talking about 8 that's plain untrue you just run around for 30 mins during the hours of time spent drawing magic from monsters you should in all honesty have tons of gil to purchase the ticket and some potions/phoenix downs. Also regardless Triple Triad was the best of the mini games put in to an RPG in a long time, I suppose a side quest in the suidoken games is to collect all 108 stars of destiny or in the case of suidoken 4 (the only one I currently own) crew members, now that is far more annoying than wiping out the rules in TT and takes far longer.
