So, is Flood an Ice Elemental attack or is it Water Elemental?
I've never been able to actually confirm this.

Flood is water-elemental.
Edges regular attacks are better than flood :S It's only if I'm fighting those flan things that I use Blitz or something.
Sephiro this here.
Just by the name "Flood" it's obvious it's a water elemental.
Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

I don't think there is a water element in FFIV though. It never mentions it as a weakness in the Bestiary Entries.
It's probably Ice-Elemental. It does increased damage against enemies that are weak against Ice, such as Rubicant.
Final Fantasy IV Ninja Magic - Caves of Narshe
Flood
MP Cost
20
Elemental
Water
Casters: Learned (Level/Situation)
Edge: At Rubicant
Spell Description
Water-elemental attack on all enemies.
That's the spell description in the game?
I'm sure it's Ice Elemental though. Every enemy that has a weakness to Ice also has a weakness to Flood as well.
Yeah. Even late in the game they prove useful since Edge has no other way of hitting multiple enemies.
Well, ice is only frozen water... >_>
