    Default Game Over Screen

....what is it actually? I can never figure out what it is (however, saying this, it will be the most obvious thing lol)

Dagger's pendant hanging on a broken weapon of some sort, probably a sword or dagger.

Dagger's pendant is there, but is that really a broken weapon? That Game Over screen always did look kinda random.

Dagger's Pendant is the only think recognizable thing in there. Does anyone else find the music mocking you.

If you listen to the music for a bit, you will start to hear the FF Prelude/Crystal Theme.

Korrekt and that is what made it the best game over music ever.

Up until this thread I actually had no idea what the image was supposed to be. I could this down to the fact that I've only ever gotten game over twice, but it's actually because I just couldn't figure it out. Did love prelude being played after the game over music though.

I thought it was Steiners sword, as he swore to protect Dagger with his life. Kinda makes sense with Daggers pendant hanging off it too.

Could be that, too. Sucks that you practically have to call in CSI to figure out what's being shown.

oh wow, that is cool. I could never figure it out either, although I did realise it was Dagger's pendant, it's very confusing - so thanks for clearing that up!

Huh, is there a special Game Over screen in the game? I didn't know that, I always hit quick reset right away when my party gets slain.

The game over songs in FFVII and FFVIII ("Continue" and "The Loser", respectively) also have the Prelude theme.
