I stopped playing Blue Dragon in favor of Bioshock, but I'll go back to it before Eternal Sonata comes out.
Blue Dragon is okay. I wasn't expecting anything revolutionary. The battle system is easy enough, although attacking only with the shadows is kind of a bummer. It could definitely do with some more classes for the shadows (generalist what the smurf?), but I've not grown impatient with the game yet.
I'd have to agree on the account of plot and characters, though. All the characters (especially the lead) seem to be entirely two-dimensional. They're not even stock characters. I mean, at least stock characters have a personality. The extent of Shu's personality is annoying and rash while his two companions seem to only be there to chastise him. Marumaro is just... I don't know what he is.
I'm not quite sure where this game is going, but I'm going to give it a bit more of a chance before I give up on it.
