Any time over 2000 years ago: The CETRA, a race of beings who migrate to-and-from and cultivate planets, arrive on "The Planet" (Which was never given a name, and shall hence-forth be referred to as just "The Planet"). This theory is based on possibly horridly mis-translated text, taken literally. But one thing is for sure: The Cetra DID move around a lot!

57-54 years ago: VINCENT VALENTINE born.


SEPHIROTH is later born, but at around the same time, Lucrecia seems to die. Vincent, enraged, confronts Hojo, who shoots him; Hojo proceeds to do experiments on Vincent's body, making him ageless, and able to transform into vicious beasts. Vincent, blaming himself for all of this, allows himself to be locked away in a coffin. According to Vincent's profile in the Square fighting game Ergiez, he was actually killed and brought back to life. Good enough for me =P It should also be noted that Sephiroth is never told of Lucrecia, Hojo, nor his strange origin, and seems to believe that a woman named Jenova is his true mother.

You forgot that Lucrecia is born in the same time as Vincent, both are immortilised in the 20s for seperate reasons.

3rd paragraph is actually quite worng, Lucrecia is sitll alive wheb Hojo shoots him, who knows why he did it, Lucrecia tries to save Vincent, injecting him the same the same experiment that killed his father before. Hojo used Vincent as an experiment that turn him in the Galliant Beast. Lucrecia turned Vincent into Choas and stop Vincent from detereorating, however, chaos of being such a powerful beast, was uncontrollable to say the least, it was the proto materia that allowed Vincent to keep control of himself. It's the same materia used to control the weapons. For security reasons, Lucrecia Crescent implated the materia deep inside Vincent Valentine's Chest. It was released after Rosso the Crimson Fought Vincent by surprise and ripped it off out of his chest.

No, I think he is actually 21 in FF7. I'm pretty sure it says he is 21 in the Official Strategy Guide of FF7, and it was said in the game that he was 16 during the incident where Sephiroth burned down Nibelheim. I think 21 makes more sense than 17, otherwise he would have been around 12 years old when he was with Sephiroth in Nibelheim.

No, I think he is actually 21 in FF7. My bad, but... wasn't he with Sephiroth at 16, he did beat him, but wasn't that a year ealyer... anyway, it truly depends where he wants to start off in the date.
If he says he joined SOLDIER, then his age is 16-17.

So, yeah, why not just make it the current year.
Oh, right, the don't have Calendars...
