Thread: Warhammer 40,000 vs. Final Fantasy

    Warhammer 40,000 vs. Final Fantasy

    That's right.

It's the glorious Imperium of Mankind taking on anything and everything in all Final Fantasy history.

It's one massive Exterminatus on the heretics.

    For the Emperor!

Yeah, not even a contest really. You don't have to read much about half the crap in the 40,000 universe to know how badly every other fandom would be decimated. Of course being in different universes there isn't really a decent standard of comparison.

Plus Warhammer is better in general then Final Fantasy etc.

    Whaa? *confused*

Hmmm they both have thier merits but as with any of these standoff's it usually comes down to personal preference.

    NO Tau are the best!

    For the greater good!

Also I think if you mean on the computer game side of things i'd have to say 'Dawn Of War: Dark Crusade' Pawns any Final Fantasy I have ever played. Although W40K Firewarrior wasnt as good as I thought it would be I still enjoyed it, but nothing beats playing warhammer 40k out on the table top battlefield. Me and my mate joe had a full on campaign once and it kicked ass. Involved getting drunk and having intense battles against Tau and Space Wolves (a chapter of the Space Marines who are genetically altred super-warriors of mankind)

I've never played 40K, but what I've seen of it seems (to me at least) to be a lot of pretty stupid attempts at glory-warrior macho crap, to be honest.

Of course, it may be deeper than it certainly appears if you get into it.

Dawn of War (40,000) and Dark Omen (fantasy) are the only two really good Warhammer PC games. The rest are all mediocre to bad.

Really though, playing Warhammer video games is kind of missing the point.

Dawn of war is an brilliant RTS probably one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of playing...but FF is an RPG and so they aren't really comparable.

Dawn of War is a seriously badass RTS, and the Imperium has my unquestioning and eternal loyalty.

But they'd still get kicked in by Kefka.

I will say that in general the Warhammer universe is more fleshed out than any Final Fantasy world (barring Tactics and related works). But they've had a lot of time to work on their one, single universe (well, technically two with the Fantasy and 40k settings) whereas Final Fantasy jumps around.

Also, I don't think even the hero units have quite the scale of power that FF characters have.

Bring on the Final Fantasy tabletop game, I say.

Let us pray they find mercy in the Imperium's bolters as opposed to the terror of the Tyranids.
