Is there any penalty for skipping cutscenes and FMVs in this game?

I do want to, I just want to make sure that there will be no annoying parts of the game that get cut short if I do the way there was in FFX-2.

i dont really think there are penaltys for skipping the scences.

Besides missing parts of the story if you haven't played through the game once before, I recall no negative side effects of skipping the scenes.
