"What kinds of music do you have here?"
"Oh, we have both kinds. Country and western."

    Blues Brothers wins.

It is indeed a great film, one of the best musicals ever (I have the soundtrack), and one of the best films of the 80s. A real shame that John Belushi managed to send himself to an early grave on the evidence of this and Animal House.

I always loved the line "Illinois Nazis. I hate Illinois Nazis" XD
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"

It doesn't get much better than the church scene.

"They're not gonna catch us. We're on a mission from God."

I use that line more than any line ever in the universe. I love love love the Blues Brother and the sequel and the SNL stuff and everything.

    Signature by rubah. I think.

My journalism professor was playing Rawhide in class a few weeks ago and it inspired me to acquire the Blues Brothers soundtracks. Such great music. The movie is, of course, fantastic as well. I'd like to see it again, but I've only got it in VHS and who knows where that is. Blues Brothers 2000 still had good music but it wasn't nearly as good as the original.

I've had a desire to watch the whole thing for such a long time now. Serious, spanning back like a year. I've only seen parts of it and I love those. Like the end with all the cops and SWAT going into the building? Brilliant.

    Another great line exchange

Jake: Oh, please, don't kill us. Please, please don't kill us. You know I love you baby. I wouldn't leave ya. It wasn't my fault.

Carrie Fisher: You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.

Jake: No I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.

"I see the new Oldsmobiles are in early this year"

I used to such a Blues Brothers geek, i could probably still recite the vast majority of the script

"7474505B, Parole 3 out of 5, Good behaviour" etc

and funnily enough i love dry white toast.

Oh and Milf: Go and watch it at once.

The most useful thing the Blues Brothers taught me is the address of Wrigley Field. "So, where do you live?" "1060 West Addison."

Also, it's really, really funny to watch the musicians try to act.

Yeah, he and Aretha Franklin were pretty good.

    Matt "Guitar" Murphy, however...

Aye and im guessing thats why Donald "Duck" Dunn only gets one line.
