So, I'm getting surgery sometime this October. To get a massive bone growth removed from my left knee. It's been there for a while and has a tendency to be quite painful, having grown right under my leg muscles and all, but seeing as how I've supposedly stopped growing now, they consider it more of an option to remove it.

Image, for those of you who want to stomach it.

Anyway, anyone else have any surgeries of note lately? Or a loved one? Or a friend? Or some random person on the street that had nothing better to do than tell you s/he had surgery recently?

None that I know of, but the area around my kidney has been kinda sore and empty lately...

Greg Oden is out for the season. He's young, but I don't think anybody has ever fully recovered from micro-fracture surgery. Sure, you can end up playing high-level ball, but it's just not the same. Maybe they can pair Oden with OJ Mayo next year.

I haven't had a surgery recently, but I had one a couple of years ago where they drilled holes into the roof of my mouth to get 2 teeth that were stuck to grow down. It made eating hell.

Nothing serious, just had my four wisdom teeth removed last month.

Same here. The vicodin was the worst part.

I had my tonsils removed..wow almost two years ago now. It was horrible. I did not eat or do anything but lay in bed for two weeks. Not having my tonsils get so bad that I can breathe has been nice though. So in the end, I guess that it was all worth it. Right?

I've known quite a few people that went through surgery. I've never went through any myself though.

The only surgery I've had was repairing a broken tooth (three times) and getting a piece of wire cut out of my foot. Good luck with yours, that sounds terrible
