GRRRR! I got an IP ban from the school network!
Ok, so last night I was online and all of a sudden the internet stops working. Well, I tried and tried to fix it and my computer was the only one not working. So, I took my laptop up to the computer maintanence and they looked and told me that I got an IP ban for using Limewire. That is crazy, I didn't think they could do that. It makes me mad.

Always read your contracts.
Your school contract should say that any activity that will negatively affect the stability of the network is not allowed. I know this because almost 10 years ago when I was in college I had the same contract.

It's probably futile, since most likely it's a MAC address ban to his NIC. Or they shut off his port. I think here you might be able to attend a judicial meeting with the network staff and do some sort of community service junk to get it reactivated. You should probably check with them and see about that.
