Or for those of us who played the series prior to FFVII, the reviving General Leo rumours. Leo was like the Aeris of FFVI, except actually useful. Rumours of his ressurection fooled many a fan.

yeah. more pokemon ones such as MewThree and some fire one as well :rolleyes2
however, the MissingNo and level 100 pokemon rumour ACTUALLY works...just kinda...dont save it or you're screwed

well i remember all the ones about getting mew in the original red/blue. It had something to do with the truck by the cruise ship, which always seemed to be shrouded in mystery since it was so odd.

The missingno. sounds familiar, I remember fi8ding an actual way to get a Pokemon named Mew, but it's a huge nonsensical blob of pixels, maybe that's it?

edit: Also the whole set of the 1/35 SOLDIER and then getting the copy of the Masamune from the gold saucer and "#1" (Sephiroth you follow) joins your party. Has anyone ever found the whole set of 1/35 SOLDIER???
