Thread: PS3 Promotion

  1. #16
Will my data be handled under the Data Protection Act 1998 and not be passed on to any third parties without my express permission?

Question: Why would anyone choose the package of less worth with the hard drive that has less capability and no game included? Maybe I read it wrong.
Azar answered, I wanted to point it out again because it is correct.

That doesn't sound like an answer to me, as it's not a reason to prefer the cheaper option if you had the choice of either for free (as a prize, in this case).

What one would people recommend to pick? isnt it better to have the 80GB HDD and just use an old ps1 or ps2 when playing older games

This has nothing to do with me being disqualified or anything, but I hope you all fall down an elevator shaft.

In all seriousness, I'm not thrilled with providing personal mailing addresses to be entered in the contest. Providing an address after winning is fine, but not to enter.

That was a serious point, because if their not going to do that I can't legally be entered in this contest as the Data Protection Act would apply in this case.

I would rather have the $499 60 gig that plays older games well than a $599 80 gig that does not.

By the way, it was decided site staff could enter this right?

Oh, it's 80GB? I heard it was 40GB. My mistake!

I dunno about the act, but we won't pass it on intentionally without your permission. If we get hacked or something, we will be in no way liable for any damages that result.

Is Warren avoiding the question of why someone would choose the cheaper one? I do think it's a valid question. It has been sort of answered by others, but Warren seems to be the one who knows for sure, yet he's not answering this one.

I cut this out of my PM answer to the first person who asked the question:

    But sweet.
I questioned that at first. However, I vaguely remember something about the new 80GB PS3 losing some features and being more cheaply made. I'm sure there was a thread about it here. If you can dig that up and we can read it again, that might answer our question. Our question, being the one that both of us are thinking of, but you're the only one who asked it. I mean, if you think about it, who would take the cheaper one unless there were something wrong with the other one? That's something we, as the potential winners, should research before signing up for the contest.

So, yeah. I was actually thinking about looking that up. However, if Warren wants to answer before I get around to doing that...

Does it really matter? So you have a choice. Surely this is good? Also, he stated that you can find a deal to the same value so I don't see how this is anything but a win-win situation, especially as you're getting a console worth hundreds of dollars/pounds. One should not question such things!
