Thread: Benchmark/Performance Testing

    Default Benchmark/Performance Testing

There are quite a few tools and ways to tell if a piece of hardware is bad or not.

But what do you use to see if it is performing up to the speed it should be? For hard disks, memory, cpu, and others...

I've got a friend who says his system is underperforming and wanted me to find him something to test it. I have memtest and the manufactorer hard drive diagnostic, but am not really finding any free tools that seem good after that.

For HDDs I'd personally recomment DiskSpeed32. Absolutely superb tool. As for the rest, i.e. non-drives, they usually work or they don't.
